Keplerth begins with a stark survival premise: the player wakes in a hibernation pod on a dangerous alien planet, without food, clothes, or equipment. Survival means gathering resources, crafting useful items, and making shelter, while the mystery of the character’s origin gives exploration a wider purpose. Randomly generated maps and dungeons add variation to journeys through the planet’s biosphere and its hidden dangers.
The game combines several ways to shape life on the surface and below it. Players can build a home, reclaim wasteland for farming, and breed creatures, or venture into dungeons and ruins to fight enemies from different factions. Captured alien creatures can be trained as battle mounts. Character creation also has a combat focus: genetic modification and skill systems pair with hundreds of weapon combinations, allowing players to develop distinct fighting styles.
Keplerth supports both solo play and multiplayer, including online and LAN co-op. Its blend of base building, farming, creature training, and combat gives players several intertwined pursuits rather than a single survival challenge.
