Kena: Bridge of Spirits follows Kena, a young Spirit Guide seeking the sacred Mountain Shrine while trying to free spirits trapped in a forgotten village. Its story-driven adventure pairs exploration with brisk action, and the village’s curse gives those activities a shared purpose: uncover what happened, restore the world, and help its lost inhabitants move on.
The Rot are more than companions to collect. Kena finds them hidden around the village, grows their abilities as she gathers more, and uses their powers to clear corruption and perform Rot Actions in combat. Encounters with Corrupt Spirits mix melee and ranged attacks, while exploration rewards curiosity with secrets, Rot Hats, and Spirit Mail that opens new areas. This combination makes discovery part of both progression and the fight to heal the village.
The game also offers activities beyond its main adventure. After completing it, New Game+ carries abilities, upgrades, and Rot into new combat encounters, challenges, and unique enemies. The Spirit Guide Trials add wave defenses, obstacle courses, and repeatable boss fights, with outfits among their rewards; equippable Charmstones provide advantages and disadvantages to tailor a playstyle.
