Kandidatos turns Brazilian political satire into a martial arts tournament, asking players to choose a fictional Kandidato inspired by electoral candidates and fight for victory in the Kandidatura. Its premise puts political caricature in the ring rather than treating politics as a conventional strategy game, while its scenarios draw on Brazilian political environments.
The combat is framed by a roster of more than ten fictional characters, each described as having unique characteristics, audio, and a share of the game’s more than 300 animations. The game also advertises adaptive “Fuzzy” artificial intelligence, which adjusts its decisions to the skill of the person playing. That combination of character-specific presentation and an opponent designed to respond to player ability gives the bouts their particular identity.
Kandidatos lists four modes, including a story mode and online peer-to-peer multiplayer, alongside single-player and player-versus-player formats such as local split-screen and LAN play.
