JudgeSim casts players as a judge in a Banana Republic, where each case asks them to weigh evidence, question accused people, decide guilt and issue punishment under the law. Its central tension is not simply reaching a verdict: corruption, bribes and threats complicate the effort to uphold justice, while decisions shape the story’s ending.
The game’s 2D, text-based format puts reading and judgment at the center. As cases grow harder, evidence becomes more difficult to access, and players must still work toward an appropriate punishment. Alongside criminal cases, side matters involving divorce, custody, inheritance and compensation bring dilemmas drawn from real life. The design also extends beyond the courtroom: players manage money and expenses, attend to family, and keep an eye on their mental health.
That format fits a game built around individual verdicts and their consequences, with personal and financial pressures adding another layer to the role of judge.
