Invokyr Demo is a demo for a co-op survival horror game built around a cursed 1970s board game and the abandoned house it rules. The game’s premise traps players inside: to pursue escape, they must play by the Gamemaster’s rules and endure whatever each turn brings. Its focus is not simply on fleeing a haunted setting, but on confronting the dangers summoned by the board.
Dice rolls call forth unpredictable horrors, traps, and curses, while exploration offers another strategic layer. Players search the house for hidden dice, each usable only once, and some grant powers to heal, hide, or hinder their pursuers, with risks attached. The labyrinthine layout makes navigation part of the threat: losing the route back to the board can leave a group stranded. The house’s distinct biomes, including a jungle, an icy mountain, and an oversized toy chest, give the supernatural setting an unusual, toy-box character.
Designed for online cooperation, the game supports up to four players, who must decide how to work together when survival is uncertain. Creatures have different hunting styles, and death is not always the end, adding further tension to the prospect of reaching the game’s conclusion. Invokyr’s distinctive hook is the marriage of board-game turns and a hostile, explorable house: every roll changes the immediate danger, while careful use of scarce dice and teamwork shape the struggle to escape. The demo’s content may differ from the full game.
