Into the Radius 2 casts players as Explorers venturing into a dangerous altered zone, where survival depends on attention as much as firepower. Hostile entities and deadly anomalies make each mission a test of precision, focus, and adaptation. The environment also shifts from day to night and through recurring Tide cycles, which reset locations on their own schedules.
Weapons are central to its hands-on design. Players can customize firearms by combining parts such as barrels, stocks, handguards, and optics, but those weapons deteriorate and require regular cleaning to avoid jams or failures. Gear is similarly configurable: chest rigs, armor vests, and backpacks can be arranged to suit a preferred setup. Meanwhile, enemies respond to what they see and hear, so light and sound can affect how an encounter unfolds.
The game supports solo play as well as online co-op for up to four players, with both modes sharing the same gameplay and story. Proximity voice chat gives co-op partners a way to coordinate or warn one another in real time.
