In Falsus combines music gameplay with a story about lies and truth. Its near-future setting follows five high school girls through separate but interconnected perspectives; their lives change when they are asked to join a strange government program and confront an unfamiliar side of reality. Visual novel-styled storytelling puts the narrative at the heart of the experience, supported by expressive characters, detailed environments, and full Japanese voice acting.
Songs are the focus of its challenges, with each encounter tied to a unique piece of music. A mouse-and-keyboard control system carries players through four difficulty settings, where incoming notes intensify and the aerial Field sweeps across the play space. The soundtrack spans more than 70 songs, including over 40 original tracks, from Japanese independent composers and international artists across varied genres. Between challenges, players collect materials to craft Cards, then arrange materials in Blueprint grids to shape their bonuses and effects. Equipping up to five Cards offers different approaches to songs.
Its structure centers on progressing through song challenges and story moments, with crafting choices adding another layer to how each player approaches those encounters.
