IdleTale blends clicker combat with RPG progression, placing the player in a world built around ever-growing numbers. Tapping attacks monsters, and defeating them brings Gold, the resource used to expand an increasingly self-reinforcing economy. The game also supports passive Gold generation, so advancement can continue while the player is away, alongside active fights and quests.
Progression reaches beyond buying larger numbers: character Skills develop Strength, Agility, and Wisdom, while looted gear adds stats for combat. Dungeons offer waves of enemies followed by a boss, with experience and loot as rewards; Stamina limits repeated runs and is also spent travelling between places. The Codex lets players strengthen known enemies for better drops, while three Talent trees and Glory, the Ascension system, add further layers to character growth. Raids provide a tougher, multi-floor challenge described as end-game content, with a once-a-day defeat limit.
The central design is a cycle of building power, unlocking features, and eventually resetting progress so the next run gains multiplied numbers and additional features.
