Idle Pins puts a tactical spin on incremental progression: rather than simply buying a highlighted upgrade, players merge two Pins to create a stronger one, with some combinations producing an entirely different Pin. The collection features more than 250 Pins, and the game asks players to make considered choices about how to develop them.
Formation building adds another layer of planning. Each formation has its own bonus, number of slots and slot types, so the best arrangement depends on the situation. Players can also tune Pins across eleven stats, including power, HP and the chance to land multiple hits, while exploring zones with distinct enemies, materials and drops. Crafting blueprints unlock Pins and other features, and alchemy offers another route to discovering Pins.
The progression loop extends into expeditions and prestige: players can uncover Tower floors with randomized enemies and loot, then choose which floors to keep as they build their own Tower. Starting a new season sacrifices some progress in exchange for powerful upgrades. Idle Pins is categorized as single-player, so its player-count context is individual progression through collecting, crafting and strategic build-making rather than a multiplayer session.
