Ice World sets its survival premise in the aftermath of a blizzard that has brought decades of winter and pushed humanity toward extinction. Players take a husky puppy into a frozen world where survival means contending with ferocious beasts while gathering what is needed to endure. That bleak setting is more than scenery: ice and snow become building materials, giving the struggle a practical, construction-focused dimension.
The game pairs hunting and fishing with mining, base building, and cultivation. Players can shape mined ice and snow into igloos, ice castles, and other structures, then build greenhouses for vegetables and trees. Animal taming adds another strand to the routine: dogs, wolves, tigers, polar bears, and Yetis are among the listed pets, while several animals and horses can be ridden. A changing day-night cycle, shifting blizzards and clear weather, and the prospect of an aurora at night give the frozen landscape a varied atmosphere. Players can also switch between first- and third-person views.
Ice World supports solo play as well as creating a server and teaming up with friends, with the listed categories also identifying co-op and online co-op.
