Hide Or Die is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game built around a shifting contest between survivors and hunters in a world overtaken by darkness. Survivors need to gear up, find abandoned extractors, restore them, and escape before the darkness consumes them. The premise makes survival a shared objective, but one pursued under pressure from a player-controlled hunter.
Movement and map design shape those encounters. Survivors can slide, super sprint, and vault obstacles, using speed and broken lines of sight to evade pursuit. The maps were designed with vertical routes, hiding places, and mobility in mind, while traps and cooperation give survivors further ways to resist. Darkness collected during play can fund character upgrades, and perks can significantly change the abilities available to hunters and survivors, encouraging different approaches to pursuit or escape.
The game supports both PvP and co-op play, with Steam lobbies for friends and dedicated servers. Its central appeal is not simply horror atmosphere, but the contrast between evasion, coordination, and active hunting.
