HEX: Shards of Fate sets its card battles in Entrath, a fantasy world of dungeons, champions and competing players. Its design brings together collectible-card-game strategy and online role-playing elements, giving deck construction a place alongside both exploration and direct competition.
Decks can be built from more than 1,000 unique cards, while champions drawn from different races and classes add individual skills to a player’s card army. Equipment and socketing gems offer further ways to improve a deck. The game also supports trading cards with friends and other players, making collection and customization part of its broader card-game structure.
The play format spans single-player dungeon exploration and one-versus-one matches, with daily tournaments described as accommodating as many as 128 players. Its player-count context therefore relates to several distinct ways of engaging with its card systems.
