Hero’s Hour is a strategy roleplaying game about directing a hero, improving a town and assembling an army to take on opponents. Exploration across the overworld and town development proceed in turns, leaving time to consider plans. Procedural generation varies the areas and buildings players encounter, while obelisks can launch small quests that send a hero across the world.
Battles shift to real time, with units fighting on their own as players cast spells or issue attack orders. The game combines this pace with a broad set of strategic options: factions have distinct mechanics and strengths, while hero classes bring special skills. Units, artifacts and spells add further possibilities, and the same faction can call for different build orders across separate runs.
Play options include single-player, local hotseat multiplayer and co-op with other players or the AI. Hotseat games share a screen, while co-op offers another way to play with others.
