Hell Clock is an action RPG built around a historical conflict and a supernatural reckoning. Set against the destruction of Canudos in 19th-century Brazil, it follows Pajeú as he tries to rescue the soul of his fallen mentor, The Counselor. Each descent brings him into conflict with undead forces and nightmarish figures tied to the violence that befell the community, giving the game’s fantasy a clear historical focus.
Combat emphasizes speed, weapon variety, and build choices. Pajeú can strike with a knife, swing Canudos’ great bell, or fire his sidearm, while abilities and Relics offer ways to shape a run. Deeper delves risk greater danger in exchange for powerful loot, and combinations of Blessings can evolve a build. The design pairs that escalating, loot-driven structure with its story of resistance rather than treating each encounter as separate from the setting.
Hell Clock offers different approaches to pressure: Relaxed Mode removes the time pressure, while Hardcore Mode raises the challenge. Beyond the three-act story, the described Endgame Ascension system adds Hell Mode, player-crafted Penances, Promises, and further Relic customization through Imbuing or the risky Corrupting option.
