Heli Heroes recasts the old-school shoot’em-up as a three-dimensional helicopter action game. Players pilot either an AH-64 Apache Longbow or a Russian Hokum through varied levels, pursuing mission objectives against a terrorist group called Revolution Now. Its story moves between grounded and science-fiction settings, from Iraqi oilfields to confrontations with major enemies in Alaska, giving the arcade-style action a broad campaign backdrop.
Combat mixes weapon pickups and bonus objects with choices about offensive and defensive equipment. Decoys, extra armor and stealth are among the listed defenses, while fuel and ammunition limits make flight strategy part of the challenge. The game’s 3D landscapes are designed to be flown over, through and into; clear mission goals and controls described as intuitive keep the emphasis on direct action rather than complex menus. Day-and-night missions and changing weather add further variation to the setting.
The format is primarily single-player, with a Companion Mode for simultaneous two-player games. Its arcade roots, helicopter loadout decisions and mission-led structure distinguish it from a purely score-focused shooter, while the alternate mode gives cooperative play a place in the design.
