Hammerting blends a vertical mining-colony simulation with RPG elements, placing a growing clan of dwarves beneath a surface conflict. Starting with a handful of miners, players establish underground operations and supply allies with requested goods. That gives the colony a purpose beyond expansion: its craftsmanship supports a struggle taking place in the Overworld.
The work is both logistical and personal. Dwarves have individual stats, traits, abilities, equipment and backgrounds, so their strengths and weaknesses shape how the clan operates. They dig for materials, craft equipment and can earn better results at the anvil as their skill grows. Expanding infrastructure brings conveyor belts and elevators to reduce manual hauling, while the cave’s hazards and valuable resources make routes down and back up an important consideration. Liquid and physics systems also feature in tasks such as pumping lava and lighting shafts with tossed torches.
Hammerting supports single-player as well as online co-op, where players can run a dwarven colony together.
