Halo: Campaign Evolved revisits the story of Halo: Combat Evolved as a modernized campaign remake. After crash-landing on a mysterious ringworld, Master Chief must help surviving humans withstand the Covenant, while his AI companion Cortana guides him toward the ring’s secrets. The design pairs a familiar science-fiction survival premise with rebuilt visuals, cinematics, level design and sound, giving this edition a renewed presentation without changing its campaign-focused identity.
Combat gets fresh tactical options through nine additional weapons and optional Skull modifiers, which can alter encounters with randomized weapons, enemies and environments. Vehicles remain part of the battlefield, with the Wraith tank now drivable and enemy vehicles available to hijack. Alongside the remade original missions, a standalone three-mission operation follows Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson through new environments against new enemies. Together, these additions broaden the campaign’s combat and replay possibilities while keeping the ringworld conflict at its center.
The campaign supports solo play or online cooperative sessions for up to four players, with crossplay and shared progression across console and PC. Players can approach the story alone or bring friends into the fight, while optional modifiers offer another way to vary missions.
