Set on Halloween night in 1978, Halloween: The Game casts players as Michael Myers or as residents trying to protect Haddonfield. Its horror-sandbox design puts the familiar suburban setting to work: townsfolk can summon the authorities and fight back when threatened, so Myers must use stealth and shadows rather than simply pursue targets in the open. The premise gives both sides a distinct role in the town’s unfolding danger.
In multiplayer, the game stages 1v4 matches, with Heroes of Haddonfield trying to arm themselves, warn neighbors and escape Myers. Household items and weapons offer ways to resist, while players can command and equip NPCs; persuading residents and contacting police can bring more powerful neighborhood patrols. On the other side, Myers uses abilities to stalk residents and avoid detection. These interacting systems make the multiplayer conflict about both pursuit and organizing a response.
The game also offers a standalone single-player story following the events of “The Night He Came Home” through Myers’s perspective. That separate mode gives the premise a narrative route alongside the cooperative-versus-one multiplayer format.
