Gunship Battle: Total Warfare sets its conflict in a drowned world, where the last survivors struggle for dominance and survival. Players reclaim and fortify a base, then build and upgrade military forces drawn from ships, jets, and tanks. The setting gives its strategy a stark backdrop, while the mix of unit types makes the campaign about assembling a force as well as holding ground.
Combat spans both PvE and PvP. Against the computer, players face enemy fleets and squadrons while seeking to conquer territory; competitive and casual PvP battles pit players against one another. Alliances add a cooperative, social layer, with Admirals coordinating attacks, defending territory, and resisting invasion. The game also breaks up its larger military battles with two distinct mini-games: Fortress is a tower-defense challenge, while Sky Ace offers arcade-inspired jet action.
Its documented design moves between building an arsenal, contesting territory, working with allies, and trying different styles of combat, all within the same military setting.
