Gujian 3 is a single-player RPG set in an imaginative world shaped by elements of ancient China. Its fantasy setting brings cultural context into a story of people and places from an ancient time, giving the game a distinctive oriental-fantasy identity. Rather than building its play around multiplayer, it is designed as a solo journey through this expanded Gujian world.
Combat unfolds in real time, with no separate combat-scene transition. Players can combine light and heavy attacks to build Energy and Morale, then spend those resources on special or morale attacks. Defense and dodging offer alternatives to offense, but consume Stamina, so choosing when to evade or hold a defensive stance is part of managing each encounter. Enemies also use terrain and environmental objects for cover and ambushes, making the surroundings relevant to a fight.
Beyond combat, constellation builds can be adjusted for each character, while pact creatures can be summoned to assist in battle. The Lotuscape adds a quieter layer of play: artisans research and craft there, creatures can help with farming, mining, and exploration, and players can decorate a courtyard. Lost Tales is an in-game card game, and a questboard offers quests tied to the world and its characters.
