Grounded 2 turns familiar park scenery into an untamed frontier by shrinking its players to ant size. Overgrown manmade spaces become places to explore, while survival means uncovering concealed mysteries and facing dangers hidden beneath the park’s bright colors. The contrast between towering structures and small-scale explorers gives the setting its distinctive sense of scale.
Survival blends character choice, crafting, building, and combat. Players can choose archetypes with different abilities, then gather rare materials from encounters to craft gear and unlock upgrades. Insect buggies add a particularly distinctive companion system: players can hatch, raise, and ride them, command them in fights, or enlist their help gathering resources. The park’s larger predators, including a tarantula and a lizard, call for preparation and strategy; another challenge involves learning a snake’s patterns before riding it and harvesting its scales.
The game supports solo play as well as multiplayer co-op, where friends can build, fight, and explore together, including in a shared world. Beyond survival, Playgrounds lets players create challenges built around combat, puzzles, and unpredictable encounters, adding community-made experiences to the park’s exploration and base-building.
