GRIS follows a young woman who is lost in her own world and coping with a painful experience. Her journey through sorrow is expressed through her dress and the abilities it grants, while her emotional growth changes how she sees the world. As new paths become accessible, exploration gives the story’s changing perspective a physical form.
Play combines light puzzles and platforming with optional skill-based challenges. The experience is designed to be serene, without danger, frustration, or death, and progress opens further parts of a carefully composed world. Rather than relying on dialogue, GRIS uses very little text, with simple control reminders shown as universal icons. Delicate art, detailed animation, and an original score shape its evocative atmosphere.
That blend of exploration, gentle challenges, and expressive storytelling makes GRIS a single-player adventure rather than a shared-session game.
