Greed Is Good casts players as bounty hunters sent into a dangerous dungeon in a world haunted by a disastrous imperial expedition. Its setting makes the treasure hunt feel like a descent into a place with a grim history, not simply a series of fights: the earlier soldiers returned changed, and some did not survive. In the present, dark tunnels hold both valuable finds and threats, including undead creatures, poisonous insects, and rival hunters.
Team-building and flexible combat are central to the design. Players can draw on professions such as warriors and mages, each with distinct skill points and combat techniques, then combine those abilities to shape an adventure team. Swords, daggers, and bows offer different weapon choices, while dungeon finds can improve combat attributes. Getting out matters as much as gathering loot: hunters must find a rare portal to survive, giving each expedition a sharp tension between pursuing rewards and escaping danger.
The game’s listed formats include online PvP and online co-op, alongside multiplayer, so its dungeon runs are framed for encounters with other players as well as cooperative play. Weapons and equipment can also be sold through a Trading House for coins, connecting exploration to an in-game economy.
