Gloria Victis is a low-fantasy medieval MMORPG built around a shared, open world and conflict between three nations. Its premise is less about following a fixed heroic path than choosing a place in a living society: players can pursue combat, trade, farming, healing, or other roles, with a class-less character system and customizable equipment supporting that freedom.
Combat uses an action-based, non-target approach, while open-world territory contests escalate into tournaments, castle sieges, and wars. Towns and castles are non-instanced, and guilds can claim castles and fortify their holdings. A partial-loot system adds risk in certain areas: players can select items from defeated enemies, with a limited window to do so. Outside the battlefield, gathering resources, crafting at workstations, tending crops, and trading contribute to a player-driven economy in which equipment is made by crafters rather than dropped by wolves.
The game also supports solo quests, group PvE events, open-world dungeons, and large PvP battles, giving its multiplayer format several ways to engage with the same world.
