Globesweeper takes the familiar logic of Minesweeper and reshapes it around globes. Revealed tiles show how many adjacent tiles contain mines, so players use each number to identify safe spaces and marked hazards. A single mistaken reveal detonates the globe and forces a restart, giving each deduction a clear stake.
Its geometric variety is central to the design: players can choose hexagonal, triangular, or classic square layouts, with adjacency rules changing to fit each shape. Five globe sizes and four difficulty settings provide further variation, from a small field to a much larger puzzle. Traditional play leaves open the possibility of a guess, while guaranteed-solvable mode is designed so that players never have to guess. Achievements unlock fourteen visual themes, including Earth, the Moon, Mars, and jewel-inspired finishes.
Its global scoreboards add a competitive comparison layer, but the core activity remains working through a globe tile by tile, using the numbers and geometry to decide what is safe.
