Frontlines: Fuel of War casts players as an elite Western Coalition soldier fighting the Red Star Alliance over the world’s remaining oil. Its setting ties that military conflict to a broader crisis of energy scarcity, environmental decay, and economic depression. Rather than framing the campaign as a simple sequence of isolated firefights, the game presents its battles as part of an expansive struggle over resources.
The design pairs non-linear objectives with destructible environments, letting players choose routes through each battle and gradually wear down opposition instead of relying on a standard die-and-redo approach. Its arsenal draws on near-future military designs, spanning vehicles such as jets, helicopters, tanks, and APCs alongside weapons. Character customization adds choices in weapon loadout and role specialization, giving players ways to shape how they contribute on the battlefield.
Frontlines offers both single-player and multiplayer play, with co-op also listed among its supported categories. Multiplayer supports large PC battles over LAN or the internet, backed by shared targeting and squad-based voice communication.
