Friday the 13th: The Game turns the familiar slasher setup into a third-person multiplayer survival horror match. Players can take the role of a counselor trying to make it through the night, or control Jason Voorhees as he hunts the group. Its central appeal is the clash between vulnerable survivors and a killer equipped to stalk, frighten and attack them.
Counselors have several possible routes to survival: hide, cooperate to escape, try to fight Jason together, or pursue an individual plan such as repairing the boat. Their strengths and weaknesses make character choice part of the strategy, while Jason’s tracking and hunting abilities give the opposing role a distinct way to shape the encounter. The game places these decisions in open settings based on Camp Crystal Lake and other locations from the films. Changing scenarios and the shifting location of useful items mean players must adjust rather than rely on one memorized approach.
Character customization and unlocks add longer-term progression, while the core question remains immediate: can the counselors escape or withstand Jason, and can Jason catch them before they do?
