fpsVR is a SteamVR utility that brings performance monitoring and selected settings into a VR overlay. Rather than presenting itself as a conventional game with missions or a campaign, it focuses on helping players inspect how a VR session is running while they are in the headset. Its dashboard can show current and average frame rates, CPU and GPU use, memory use, frametimes, temperatures, and dropped or reprojected frames.
The design extends beyond a basic hardware readout. Players can adjust SteamVR supersampling and motion smoothing settings, configure audio devices, and mute or unmute a microphone using the headset proximity sensor. The overlay itself can be resized, made more or less opaque, attached to controllers, or hidden. Cable-twist tracking is another practical feature, while a playspace center marker and controller or tracker battery readings add session-focused tools.
Session duration and a timer or alarm make fpsVR useful during play as well as for later review: the utility can save session history for viewing in its included History Viewer, and statistics can be reset for benchmarking or testing.
