Forza Horizon 5 casts players as leaders of a Horizon Adventure set across Mexico, where a sprawling landscape is the stage for driving and exploration. Its world moves from deserts and jungles to historic cities, beaches, canyons and a snow-capped volcano, giving the racing setting a strong sense of place rather than confining play to a single circuit.
A campaign built around expeditions and hundreds of challenges lets players engage with different activities, while Horizon Story missions introduce characters and choices over their outcomes. Dynamic seasons change the world weekly, bringing weather such as dust storms and tropical storms alongside new events, challenges, collectibles, rewards and areas to explore. EventLab adds another creative layer: players can build custom races, challenges, stunts and game modes, and customize cars with options including opening and closing convertible tops.
The format ranges from solo campaign play to shared activities. Horizon Arcade links players in a continuing series of challenges without menus, loading screens or lobbies; Horizon Open and Tours offer further ways to meet and play with others.
