FORCED: Slightly Better Edition casts players as enslaved gladiators fighting through a brutal fantasy school in pursuit of freedom. Its arcade-action RPG framework mixes dangerous trials and enormous foes with puzzles, making survival a matter of more than simply dealing damage. The premise gives its cooperative battles a clear purpose: endure the school’s tests and push back against oppression.
Combat is built around evasion and coordination. Enemy attacks can be dodged, while basic strikes apply marks that set up powerful special attacks from a player or an ally. The Spirit Mentor adds another layer: the party controls this companion together to gain an advantage. Four distinct character classes offer different play styles, and the campaign is balanced for the number of participants. The game supports one to four players, both locally and online, with a solo option as well as co-op.
Beyond the campaign’s monstrous opponents and tricky puzzles, Survival Arena Mode offers a separate format. Its distinctive identity lies in pairing skill-focused action with tactical setup and a jointly controlled mentor.
