Floodland is a single-player strategy and simulation game about rebuilding after climate change and rising seas have devastated the world. You lead survivors through a landscape of islands and swamps, working to establish a settlement and decide what kind of society it will become. Survival is a collective challenge: factions may disagree, and maintaining peace is part of the effort to rebuild.
The colony’s needs span food, shelter, water, health and security, while scarce resources, space and labour constrain what you can provide. Players scavenge, explore the world island by island, rediscover technology through a branching tech tree, upgrade buildings and train specialists. Laws are another core system: choices on the Law-Tree shape the settlement’s direction, and the source notes consequences when groups do not share your vision. Floodland brings resource management together with decisions about authority and social cohesion.
Maps, events and the makeup of the world are randomly generated, making each playthrough different.
