Fears to Fathom - Scratch Creek puts players in the roles of Tessa Langley and Marcus Reed, an Oregon couple whose move to another state is interrupted by an unexpected turn toward the decrepit town of Scratch Creek. Their survival depends on making the right choices together, placing the story’s tension around shared decisions rather than a lone protagonist’s journey.
The game is designed as a two-player narrative co-op walking simulator, with driving and exploration shaping the couple’s route through the episode. Its VHS film aesthetic and atmospheric environment frame that journey, while proximity voice chat and player voice activity support communication between partners. Players can also text the other survivor and receive messages from NPCs, bringing in-character exchanges into the experience.
Scratch Creek is online co-op only, with duo matchmaking for two players as well as the option to play with a friend. That format gives player-count information a specific context: the game is built around a pair navigating its story together, not a standalone single-player campaign or a larger multiplayer group.
