Fate/EXTELLA begins after the Holy Grail War has ended, with Nero and her Master holding the throne in the virtual realm of SE.RA.PH. Their victory is unsettled: a rival Servant leads an uprising, while a new challenger threatens to tear through reality. The Moon Cell Automaton, a lunar supercomputer capable of granting wishes, gives this conflict a prize and a history, while an ancient secret complicates Nero’s defense of her rule.
The game turns that premise into high-speed action battles. Players control Servants, using varied moves and a powerful form change to transform them, and fight enemy forces on the ground and in mid-air. Its roster draws not only on Fate/EXTRA but also on other Fate stories, bringing familiar heroes and villains into the same clash. Combat is the defining format, while the series’ story remains a substantial part of the design rather than a backdrop alone.
That narrative is arranged around three heroine Servants, each with an independent perspective, alongside side stories that illuminate the main plot.
