Fate/EXTELLA LINK unfolds in SE.RA.PH, a virtual world inside a lunar supercomputer where digital recreations of legendary figures fight rogue programs and one another. A new threat brings the conflict toward apocalyptic destruction, and the story follows Charlemagne and an ensemble of Servants as they battle in humanity’s name. The setting gives the action a science-fiction frame while drawing its cast from the Fate universe and Earth’s lore and history.
Combat is built around speed and intensity: players chain quick and heavy attacks into combos, with team mechanics offering another way to overwhelm opponents. Battles also vary in their conditions for victory, while extra missions range from rescue operations to all-out assaults. That mix places the emphasis on rapid fighting and shifting objectives rather than a single, uniform battlefield task.
Alongside its single-player offering, the game includes online 4-on-4 battles, pitting players against as many as seven others.
