Farming Simulator 22 casts players as modern farmers, with agriculture, animal husbandry and forestry forming the core of its rural work. The four seasons shape the setting, and winter brings particular challenges. Rather than focusing on one crop or landscape, the game offers different farm settings, from a Mediterranean vineyard or olive orchard to Midwestern fields and an Alpine animal farm.
Farm development is both practical and creative: players can expand their operations, build production chains and work toward an agricultural empire. Groundwork includes mulching and stone picking, while the build mode adds greenhouses and beehives. More than 400 machines and tools from over 100 real agricultural brands give equipment a substantial place in the farming experience; a character creator lets players shape the appearance of their farmer. Community-created modifications, officially tested by GIANTS Software, can extend that experience.
