Fantasy Grounds VTT brings a tabletop roleplaying group together around a virtual table, whether players are gathered in person or meeting online. Rather than centering on a single campaign or ruleset, it provides a flexible space for running games, with support for several established systems and tools for building adventures.
Its play experience is organized around familiar tabletop materials: dice, character sheets, tokens, maps, and notes. Gamemasters can run sessions while players join, and characters can be created locally before a session. Interactive mechanics and a character-creation wizard for fifth-edition Dungeons & Dragons are designed to reduce manual preparation and calculations. The included CoreRPG ruleset also allows groups to adapt the toolkit to other game systems, while supported content can be reused in custom adventures.
The emphasis is on assembling the components of a tabletop session and tailoring them to a group’s chosen rules, from supported systems to additional rulesets and modifications.
