Fall of Civilization casts you as the leader of a faction that survived world-ending events in a scarred, barren world. The remnants of society face a struggle over dwindling resources, with other factions shaping an unsettled political landscape. Its post-apocalyptic premise is grounded in rebuilding as well as survival: inhabitants must gather what remains and try to make a world from the pieces left behind.
Resources serve as currency and practical constraints. Provisions, Building Supplies, and Ammo must be spent carefully, while players design and develop a base of operations for their faction. Units can be customized for different tasks, and random personalities mean factions may treat one another differently between games. Exploration also has a narrative role: units can uncover journal entries that reveal more of the story. These systems bring together base development, resource management, faction relations, and discovery rather than centering the game on combat alone.
Listed as a single-player game, Fall of Civilization is framed around managing one faction’s fortunes, not coordinating a group of online players.
