EXFIL is a tactical infantry shooter centered on missions in active conflict zones, where rival forces and AI factions shape the battlefield. Its design emphasizes communication, situational awareness, and deliberate decisions over character classes, special abilities, or gear-score progression. Players can take on operations alone or with others, with objectives that include securing intelligence, engaging enemy forces, and escaping alive.
Its modes give that premise several forms. Combat Ops sends players into cooperative or solo missions with randomized objectives and dynamically patrolling AI; Extraction pits teams against one another as they try to secure intel and escape. Search and Destroy, VIP, and Team Deathmatch add focused objective fights and direct infantry combat. The changing battlefield is a notable part of the design: AI units patrol, reinforce positions, respond to gunfire, and contest territory, while weather and the day-night cycle affect the environments. Simulated ballistics, weapon handling, and proximity chat further support its grounded, team-oriented approach.
EXFIL also offers configurable match parameters, including AI presence, weather, weapons, and respawn rules, alongside self-hosted and dedicated server options. That combination makes it a flexible setting for coordinated missions as well as structured PvP firefights.
