Entropy : Zero is a modification for Half-Life 2: Episode Two that casts you as a stranded Metrocop, abandoned in the rebel sanctuary of City 10. Set before the fall of City 17, its premise shifts the viewpoint from the familiar resistance struggle to a Combine officer fighting to survive and reclaim a stronghold. The story unfolds across four chapters amid bitter cold, rebel shanties, infested tunnels and subway systems.
Combat is designed around a vulnerable protagonist without a HEV suit: the mod describes a fight where players must think quickly and shoot first to avoid bullets and claws. Its arsenal draws on Combine equipment, including a Stunstick, Manhacks and a prototype AR2. Survival also involves confronting the Combine plague, as the Metrocop pushes toward Pillar 10 and uncovers the history of City 10’s hidden sanctuary.
The setting and perspective give the mod its distinctive angle: rather than entering the conflict as a well-equipped hero, players inhabit an isolated enforcer amid the consequences of the Combine regime. A custom soundtrack accompanies the campaign, while closed captions are available in multiple languages and achievements are included. The listed requirements are Half-Life 2, Episode One and Episode Two, along with Source SDK 2013 (Beta).
