Enter the Gungeon sends a band of misfits into a dangerous fortress in search of its ultimate treasure: a gun said to kill the past. Each hero is driven by a personal regret, giving the dungeon crawl a clear goal beyond survival. The game combines bullet-hell combat with exploration, as players face gun-wielding enemies and formidable bosses across a sequence of challenging floors.
Its rooms are hand-designed, but the larger labyrinth is procedurally generated, so each descent draws on both crafted spaces and changing layouts. Combat asks players to shoot, dodge-roll, and use the environment, including flipping tables for cover. Loot and hidden secrets reward exploration, while merchants and shopkeepers offer powerful items to purchase. A large collection of unusual guns, ranging from missiles and lasers to bees and foam darts, gives the arsenal its own playful identity.
Enter the Gungeon supports solo play as well as co-op, with shared and split-screen play listed among its modes. Whatever the party size, the core appeal rests on adapting to bullet-filled encounters, discovering what the labyrinth holds, and pressing toward the treasure at its depths.
