Enemy Mind is a side-scrolling space shooter that casts the player as a being of psychic energy, stranded in space and fighting to survive by taking control of other ships. That possession premise gives its retro arcade action a defining twist: instead of simply piloting one craft, you can turn an enemy’s ship into your own means of escape and attack.
The game describes more than twenty distinct ships, each with its own abilities, alongside eight levels and over seventy waves of enemies. Its classic 8-bit art and chiptune-inspired soundtrack reinforce the old-school shmup style, while an adaptive story system is designed to change with individual play style. These elements pair a familiar wave-based shooter format with ship-swapping and a narrative intended to respond to how a run unfolds.
The core premise remains a focused arcade shooter, but the option to play together gives its ship-stealing combat a cooperative context as well as a solo one.
