EMPULSE is a fast-paced team shooter set in the post-utopian streets of Freehold, where movement is central to both traversal and combat. Its six-versus-six matches pit crews against one another, with players chaining wall-runs, grapple swings and airborne attacks to outmaneuver opponents. The result is a shooter whose sense of momentum is built into its core premise rather than treated as a way to travel between firefights.
The movement toolkit encourages players to link actions together: a grapple can build momentum or pull an enemy into melee range, while boost pads, jetpacks and Holojumps help keep a route going. P.A.I.N.T. Bombs add another layer, letting players alter surfaces with effects including speed, healing and explosives. Mid-round, mechs become a contested objective; claiming one gives a player a powerful combat kit with weapons, a shield and movement options of its own. That combination makes EMPULSE’s fights about both individual mobility and control of a shared objective.
Its particular identity comes from the interplay of fluid movement, surface-altering tools and a mid-match mech contest, rather than from a single weapon or arena alone.
