EMERGENCY casts players as incident commanders in a co-op real-time strategy game about saving lives. Fires, injured civilians, criminals and high-voltage accidents create crises to manage, with decisions made under pressure. Rather than controlling a lone hero, you direct a rescue team drawn from several public-safety departments.
Its central challenge is coordination: dispatch firefighters, police, medical personnel and technical engineers to the situations at hand. Shifts bring varied responses, while weather such as lightning storms, freezing cold and blazing heat is also a factor. Successful shifts award cards that can improve units and unlock abilities, offering a way to develop favored departments or build a more versatile command approach.
The game supports online single-player as well as cooperative play, either with friends or through matchmaking; teams can include up to four other commanders. EMERGENCY also offers three maps with unique emergencies and themed shifts, giving its command-and-coordination format different settings to work through.
