Elemental: Reforged sets its strategy in Anthys, a world shattered after mortal sorcerers defeated the Titans who had stolen its magic. As a sovereign, you build a civilization amid the aftermath and pursue crystal shards that can reshape the land. Rival Kingdoms and Empires are divided over magic, giving the conflict an ideological dimension as well as a territorial one. The premise makes expansion about more than claiming space: the power you seek can alter the world your civilization inhabits.
Its 4X framework is unusually personal in its detail. Rather than fielding generic troops, you design unit types, choose their equipment and follow named soldiers as they develop through battle. Sovereign marriages and heirs carry traits across generations, while captured shards can turn wasteland fertile or raise mountains to close a border. Research spans Civilization, Warfare and Magic, and crafted weapons, armor, scrolls and potions give resource gathering a direct role in preparing heroes and armies. When forces meet, combat shifts to a tactical map where positioning and unit abilities matter.
Anthys is procedurally generated, with quests, champions, encounters and locations to explore, so campaigns combine empire management with an unfolding fantasy adventure. The game also includes three story campaigns and Steam Workshop support for custom maps, scenarios and total conversions. Its listed play options emphasize single-player and a pace players can control, including adjustable difficulty, play without timed input and saving at any time.
