EGOS - Tales of Fallen Souls casts you as a Soul inhabiting a false body called an Egos. You awaken with no memory in the outskirts of Talia, a kingdom caught in a war between light and dark. The story sets a pressing goal: recover your original body and restore peace before the day ends, or Talia will be lost. That urgency gives the adventure a clear narrative frame as you uncover your past and confront the forces holding the kingdom.
Progress hinges on overcoming enemies and solving puzzles rather than simply traveling through the story. Minor Lords control areas and stand between you and the keys needed to open the great door; beyond it waits the High Lord of Talia. Better weapons and shields can be found as you advance, while crystals let you revive at certain map pillars. The stakes rise sharply against a High Lord: dying there wipes your progress and sends you back to the beginning. The game also describes a growing challenge as the story unfolds.
Its other modes offer different ways to engage with the setting. Survival drops you onto a random map to withstand waves of enemies, with access to a new area and better weapons and first-aid kits after a period of survival; enemies strengthen as zones shrink. Art Mode, by contrast, is for exploring concept art, development history, and information about enemies and weapons.
