Echo Point Nova casts players as a combat-skilled explorer stranded on a mysterious planet, where a ruthless mercenary force is exploiting ancient technology to build devastating weapons. Its main quest is to dismantle the operation, but the game also invites players to roam and discover the world at their own pace. That open-ended premise is matched by a seamless environment in which distant vistas are reachable rather than mere scenery.
Movement and combat are closely tied to exploration: a grapple hook, hoverboard and unlockable powers help players traverse the world, while hidden weapons, character enhancements and cosmetics offer discoveries along the way. Agility orbs improve mobility, and kills unlock weapon attachments. Encounters range from enemy classes with distinct attacks, such as turret-planting sappers and rocket-firing helicopters, to towering colossi that can appear during the quest or while exploring.
The game is designed for solo play or four-player co-op, with progress carried on the same save across either format and individual difficulty settings available within a multiplayer session. Co-op starts without mandatory tutorials and uses Steam Friends invites rather than random matchmaking. This flexible mix of solitary exploration and invited teamwork gives player-count information useful context: activity may reflect people tackling the same open-world shooter alone as well as groups taking on its threats together.
