DYNASTY WARRIORS 9 Empires combines the series’ large-scale action with a country-conquering simulation. Its premise places battlefield command alongside the work of building a political force, giving the game a strategic frame beyond individual clashes.
Sieges unfold around castles in changing environments, where players must choose how to capture each stronghold and direct their armies accordingly. The political system adds a different kind of decision-making: officers’ choices and relationships help shape and strengthen their force. Players can inhabit roles including ruler, general, or unaffiliated officer, so the game’s strategic perspective can shift with the character’s place in the political order.
An evolved Edit Mode lets players create custom officers from a broad selection of parts, alongside the game’s roster of Musou and generic officers.
