Dungeons 4 casts you as the Absolute Evil, returning alongside Dark Elf Thalya to challenge the forces of good. Its central contrast is between a creature-filled underground base and the bright Overworld beyond: build a comfortable Dungeon for your minions, then send them out to seize territory and turn green landscapes toward evil. The premise gives the strategy a comic fantasy frame, but the work of ruling and defending the Dungeon remains central.
That two-front design shapes the play. The Dungeon can grow to sprawling proportions, with traps and creatures protecting its heart from raids, while Horde, Undead, and Demon forces follow the player’s orders. Above ground, defeating Mini Bosses such as the harmony-obsessed Unicorn earns Evilness, which can be spent to transform the Overworld into new biomes. Thalya also has an ability-based Perk system, and the customizable Evil Hand adds another way to govern creatures and deal with subordinates. Dwarves add a further contest for underground space and resources.
A long narrated campaign sits alongside skirmish maps, and both formats support two-player co-op, with players managing one Dungeon together. Its appeal lies in balancing base-building, defense, and expansion across a deliberately exaggerated battle between good and evil.
