Dungeon Defenders Eternity blends tower defense with action RPG combat in a fantasy fight to protect Etheria from the Old Ones’ army. Players can take the battle into their own hands by slicing and shooting enemies, or place defenses and let those structures do the work. Its premise of a group of children trying to save the world gives the combat a playful adventure frame.
Team-building and hero variety are central to the design: the game offers twelve classes, each with distinct defenses and abilities, and supports online co-op for up to four players. Beyond the campaign, the listed modes include challenge missions, Survival Mode and Hardcore Mode. The mix of direct combat, construction and class choice gives each mission both a tactical and an action-oriented dimension.
The game also describes a community tavern for talking and trading with up to sixteen other players before a mission, alongside quickmatch for joining missions. These social spaces sit apart from the core defense loop, linking preparation and matchmaking to the battles themselves.
