DUCKSIDE puts players in the feathers of a duck on an island built around persistent-world survival. Its pitch mixes the danger and scavenging of games such as DayZ or Rust with an absurd central image: every other survivor is a duck, too. The result is a setting where flight and flock life sit alongside the threat of armed encounters, rather than serving as a lighthearted break from survival.
Players harvest resources, craft weapons and tools, and build shelters and nests for storage and protection. Those defenses are never guaranteed: structures can be destroyed and stashes raided, while death can cost a duck its gear. Flight is a defining part of movement and combat, with gliding, hovering, acceleration and diving, including while shooting and fighting. The game supports going alone or teaming up to build, explore, fight and survive, with opposing ducks adding a PvP threat to the island.
Its identity comes from making ducks participate in a serious survival loop, complete with crafting, destructible shelter and aerial combat, rather than treating the animal premise as a cosmetic joke.
